My buddy was asking me the logic or rather the success rate in communicating fly fishing in such a manner. He thinks that it is a waste of time, people that wants to learn fly fishing would rather be trying their luck at casting.

And do what? Learn to cast the fly by following someone that is fishing there? I do not have the luxury of a help book, but was blessed enough to learn the basics from fly fishing magazines.

From there, I understand the importance of theory. Knowing the basics when fly fishing allows one to move along the learning curve faster, thereby better your opportunity in getting that fat trout!
